Theoretical move: Fink uses a clinical case to show how a patient's vow structures his fantasy as a closed window—drawing on Lacan's frame/window of fantasy—where the closing off of escape routes is itself the operative element of fantasy, not the content displayed within the frame.
The *window* or frame of fantasy that Lacan occasionally mentions (see, for example, Lacan, 2004, pp. 89–90) appears here, although it is only the opening or closing of the window that seems to be germane in this instance
