Spectrality of Capital

Spectrality of Capital names the structural condition in which Capital, in its fully developed financial and dematerialized form, operates at a level of abstraction that is no longer anchored in any concrete material substrate—circulating as a self-valorizing virtual entity whose logic is irreducible to the "real" economy of goods, services, and lived labor relations. Žižek, drawing on Derrida's notion of spectrality while radicalizing it through a Lacanian and Hegelian frame, argues that this spectral dimension is not a distortion or pathological excess of capitalism but its inner truth finally made manifest.
